A life remembered
Mr. Anand Sookdeo, aged 73, of Enterprise, Chaguanas, passed peacefully at home on 28th April 2026, surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in central Trinidad, Anand gave the greater part of his working life to the sugar estates of Caroni, rising each morning before dawn and known throughout the district for his quiet diligence and generosity. A devoted Hindu, he worshipped for many years at the Enterprise Hindu Mandir and found deep comfort in its prayers and festivals. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife Dropatie, his sons Vishnu and Rajindra, his daughter Savitri, and a host of grandchildren, relatives and friends across Trinidad & Tobago and the diaspora.
Funeral arrangements
Service & interment
- ✦Prayers will be held at the family home in Enterprise, followed by a service at the Enterprise Hindu Mandir.
- ✦The cremation will take place at the Shore of Peace Cremation Site, Mosquito Creek, La Romaine.
- ✦Mourners are kindly asked to wear white. No flowers by request; donations may be made to the Chaguanas District Health Facility in his memory.
