A life remembered
Mr. Bertram Lai, aged 59, of Newtown, Port of Spain, passed peacefully on 27th June 2026, surrounded by those he loved.
Born and raised in Port of Spain and a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Woodbrook, Bertram was a well-known motor mechanic whose garage served the neighbourhood faithfully for many years. He is fondly remembered by his wife Marcia, his children Wayne and Kevin, his grandchildren, and a large family of relatives and friends across Trinidad & Tobago and the diaspora.
Funeral arrangements
Service & interment
- ✦A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Woodbrook, followed by interment at the Lapeyrouse Cemetery, Port of Spain.
- ✦The family invites mourners to wear light colours in celebration of his life.
- ✦No flowers by request — donations may instead be made to the Living Water Community, Port of Spain.
