A life remembered
Mr. Farouk Ali, aged 88, of Mayaro, in the Mayaro/Rio Claro district, passed peacefully at home on 28 March 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in the fishing village of Mayaro, he was a devoted member of the Mayaro Muslim community and worshipped for many years at the local masjid. A skilled motor mechanic, he spent a lifetime keeping the vehicles of the district on the road, admired for his patience and his ready hand to any neighbour in need. He is survived by his children Shabir, Zaleena and Rafeek, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of relatives and friends across Trinidad & Tobago and the diaspora.

Service & interment
- ✦Janazah (funeral) prayers will be held at the Mayaro Jama Masjid, in keeping with Muslim rites.
- ✦Burial will follow the same day at the Mayaro Muslim Cemetery.
- ✦Mourners are kindly asked to wear modest, light clothing; in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Mayaro District Health Facility.
