A life remembered
Ms. Joan Joseph, aged 90, of Malabar, Arima, passed peacefully on Thursday, 18th June 2026, after a long and gracious life.
Born and raised in Arima, Joan was a lifelong communicant of the Church of the Holy Saviour (Anglican) and a devoted primary-school teacher who shaped generations of Malabar children over a career spanning more than forty years. Firm, kind and endlessly patient, she was known simply as 'Teacher Joan' to the community she loved. She is survived by her children Vernon and Paula, her grandchildren Aaliyah, Justin and Nkechi, her great-grandchildren, and a host of former pupils, relatives and friends across Trinidad & Tobago and the diaspora.

Service & interment
- ✦A funeral service will be held at the Church of the Holy Saviour (Anglican), Arima, followed by interment at the Arima Public Cemetery. Mourners are warmly invited to wear light colours in her honour. No flowers by request — donations may be made in her memory to the Malabar Government Primary School.
