A life remembered
Mr Peter de Freitas, aged 66, of Gulf View, San Fernando, passed peacefully on Monday the 6th of July, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born and raised in the south of Trinidad, Peter was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in San Fernando and gave more than four decades of his life to his profession as a civil engineer, helping to shape the roads and public works of the island he loved. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife Cecile, his children Gerard and Antoinette, and a wide circle of family and friends across Trinidad & Tobago and the diaspora.

Service & interment
- ✦A Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of Peter de Freitas will be celebrated at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, San Fernando, followed by interment at Paradise Cemetery, San Fernando. His family gives heartfelt thanks for every kindness, prayer and expression of sympathy offered at this time. No flowers by request — donations may be made in his memory to the San Fernando General Hospital.
